NBC Sports Chicago reports that the Chicago Cubs are scheduled to face off against the Cincinnati Reds in the 2022 Field of Dreams game. The highly anticipated matchup is expected to occur on Thursday, August 11 in Dyersville, Iowa.
Without a doubt, the first Field of Dreams game was a huge hit. The White Sox emerged victorious over the Yankees in a thrilling 9-8 match, capped off by shortstop Tim Anderson’s walk-off homer disappearing into the cornfields. The FOX broadcast and overall visual appeal received glowing feedback from viewers.
A sequel to MLB is in the works, with the other Chicago baseball team joining the action this time. While betting lines for the game may not be available yet, it will be legal to place wagers on the Cubs and other games through online sportsbooks in Iowa and Illinois.

Illinois is likely to see its first stadium-retail betting with the enactment of the Sports Wagering Act, allowing financial casinos at venues. There may be more of these establishments in the future.
Currently, the Cubs are the only team with concrete plans to construct a building of this nature. The structure is expected to include a bar and restaurant and span 22,350 square feet.
DraftKings is heavily advertising at the Addison red line ‘L’ stop in an effort to attract Cubs fans and turn them into retail sports betting customers.

MLB has announced the 2022 schedule, with the Cubs set to face the Reds on August 11. Following this game, they will have a day off before playing two more games against Cincinnati at Wrigley Field. This break mirrors the one taken by the White Sox and Yankees earlier this season.
