Update: Rivers Casino New Poker Room Is Now Open
Editor’s Note: This story includes information about the opening of the Rivers poker room.
The Des Plaines casino has officially opened the new Riverspokerroom.
The $87 million expansion plans for Rivers include a poker room, which is expected to be a huge success due to its popularity in Illinois and proximity to Chicago.
Illinois now has four poker rooms, each with 5,600 square feet of space and 22 poker tables.
Earlier, Greg Carlin, co-founder and CEO of Rush Street Gaming, announced:
Our proposed expansion will allow us to provide our guests with a broader selection of entertainment, dining choices, gaming opportunities, and a highly anticipated casino room. We have always been dedicated to providing a top-notch experience for our visitors. As the economy begins to reopen, we are thrilled to elevate our standards and offer an even more enhanced experience.
The casino’s expansion will eventually span 78,000 square feet in total. The first floor of the expansion is complete, but construction on the second floor is still in progress.
At present, Illinois has three games that offer poker rooms.
There is no doubt that Rivers will be the most convenient casino location for people in the Chicagoland area.
What’s the newest in online poker, What & rsquo?
Of course, the convenience of playing poker online would even exceed that of a poker hub located in the center.
As anticipated during the 2022 legislative session, there has been little news regarding online blackjack or casinos. Nevertheless, there may be some progress in the upcoming season.
In the fall, State Rep. Michael Zalewski expressed his expectation that online poker will be legalized in Illinois sooner rather than later.
He made a statement on 670 The Score:
As we approach the legislative session in 2023, there is a strong possibility that stimulus funds will be utilized and lawmakers will be exploring avenues to generate revenue. I foresee a significant debate on the legalization of online blackjack right from the start. My optimism for this discussion is high, given my experience with the DraftKings app and my visits to casinos in Michigan. The ease and accessibility of online gambling are undeniable, and I believe it is only a matter of time before it is legalized.
