Prior to the Land of Lincoln, Wisconsin should be included in the list of neighboring states to Illinois that will offer school sports betting on IL teams.
Wisconsin residents will have the opportunity to place financial sports wagers at the Oneida Casino in Green Bay starting November 1. Additionally, sports betting will be offered at various Oneida lands throughout the state.
The Oneida are just a few kilometers away from the Green Bay Packers’ home stadium, Lambeau Field.
In an interview with Spectrum News, Chad Fuss, the assistant general manager of the Oneida Casino, stated:
As of August 16, we were able to provide event wagering. However, due to supply chain disruptions and hardware and software issues, our current target is to be fully operational by November 1.
Although Wisconsin will not have mobile sports betting on the same scale as Illinois, there will be an online option available. If you are at a Oneida retail sports betting location, you will have the ability to place bets on your phone if desired.
Fuss remarked:
We will utilize geofencing technology, allowing you to place a bet with your mobile device once you are within the designated area.
Illinois and Wisconsin will compete in sports on October 9th.
Due to supply chain delays, wagering on the Badgers or the Illini in the game is not possible. Additionally, betting on the Wisconsin school game will not be allowed even when Northwestern plays against the Badgers on November 13.
Illinois is a top-three sports betting market in the US on a monthly basis, but it is unlikely that the event will take place there.

The House passed a bill in the spring that would repeal the Illinois collegiate betting ban on in-state teams, but the Senate did not vote on it before the session ended.
The bill allows only in-person betting on Illinois college teams, with no provision for wireless wagering. Despite this limitation, it is a positive step towards eventual full legalization.
The Illinois General Assembly will convene from October 19 to 28, during which time the Senate will vote on the bill.
The policy received a 96-11 approval in the House, making it probable that it will pass the Senate in the future. Nevertheless, the ongoing issue of “when” remains a significant concern, as other priorities may take precedence.
