You are in luck if you are searching for a Las Vegas sportsbook viewing experience without having to pay for a flight or deal with the chaos of the strip.
The Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago now has a Las Vegas sportsbook atmosphere thanks to Over/Under Sports Bar in Illinois.
Located at 2723 Halsted St., Over/Under features over 40 wall-to-wall TVs that broadcast all the day’s major sporting events along with the odds for each game. It is conveniently located near the popular Spanish eatery, Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba.

Over/Under does not accept in-person bets as they are not partnered with any casinos or sportsbooks. However, it could become a popular destination for individuals with online betting accounts to find successful wagers.
Over/Under promotes itself as the top bar in Chicago for fans of online betting.
As of now, registration for mobile sports betting accounts must be done in person. However, this requirement will be lifted on March 5, allowing new users to once again register from the convenience of their own homes.
Sports gambling is booming in Illinois.
Plates have become increasingly popular as they aim to replicate the ambiance of a casino.
The surge in sports betting in Illinois since it was legalized in 2019 is the driving force behind this trend. It is estimated that sportsbooks in Illinois will reach a total monthly handle of $1 billion by 2022. The handle refers to the total amount of money wagered on sports events.
Not only bettors are benefiting from the highs, as sports betting has generated $630 million in operator revenue and nearly $100 million in tax revenue since 2020.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous professional and college sports events were delayed in 2020. Notably, the NCAA March Madness Tournament was completely canceled that year. However, with everything seemingly returning to normal and fewer games being postponed, profits and income numbers are expected to continue rising.
Barstool Sports taking advantage of the fad
Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool, visited Chicago to participate in the grand opening events of the new Barstool bar located in the River North neighborhood.
The bar located at 18 Hubbard St. in Barstool has only been open for a little over three weeks and has already gained a strong following. Every weekend, patrons eagerly line up to secure their seats at the popular club before it reaches capacity.
Barstool and Penn National Gaming have joined forces to introduce sportsbooks and mobile betting apps in states where sports gambling is legal. The bar in River North will not serve as a registration spot for Barstool Sportsbook mobile accounts.
New customers can register by visiting Hollywood Casino Aurora.
