According to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, the state is set to enter Phase 5 on Friday, June 11. This last phase of reopening will eliminate all capacity restrictions on sports venues, bringing joy to sports fans in Chicago.

At present, 60% of the Chicago Cubs, White Sox, Red Stars, and Chicago Sky have the capacity to accommodate spectators.

Which sporting venue in Chicago may be completely booked?

During Phase 5, the following venues in the Chicago area may reach maximum capacity.

    Discipline with a Guaranteed Level: 40, 615

  • Arena Wintrust: 10, 387
  • Chicago Industry: 41, 649
  • SeatGeek Facility: 28, 000

Nevertheless, for that to happen, Chicago must first move to Phase 5.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced in a tweet on Thursday that she intends to fully reopen Chicago on June 11, following Governor Pritzker’s lead.

We will be transitioning to Phase 5 on Friday, June 11, following state guidelines due to the use of masks, social distancing, and vaccination efforts. This will mark the official reopening of Chicago.

Despite this, do not expect Chicago clubs to begin selling tickets at full capacity as soon as June 11 arrives.

For instance, the capacity at Wrigley Field and Guaranteed Rate Field did not increase until about a week or two after Illinois entered the “Bridge Phase.”

This is great news for fans and businesses alike as there is a possibility that Chicago sports facilities could be fully operational by July.

What about the college football teams in Illinois, the Chicago Bears?

Last season, the Chicago Bears played without a crowd in attendance. However, in 2021, the NFL team is looking to pack Soldier Field with fans beginning in September.

Roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner, is optimistic about increasing attendance at venues in 2021.

We expect stadiums to be full and it is possible that some employees, particularly those who are not vaccinated, may need to wear masks. We will continue to closely adhere to all laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Our goal is to provide fans with the best experience possible as we move into the new year.

The statement also applies to college sports teams, such as those at Northwestern, Illinois, and Northern Illinois.

How about eye faces?

Chicago venues such as Wrigley Field are adhering to the latest CDC guidelines, which indicate that fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear face masks. It is worth noting that venues are not verifying vaccination status.

It is understood that full capacity may not allow for social distancing, but not every event will be at maximum capacity.

it is probable that the identical regulations will remain in effect as the soccer season is still a few weeks away. Regarding the slide and heel,

The Senate did not discuss the act during their meeting, but it is expected to progress in time for the next school basketball season. There is strong support for SB 521, which passed in the House with a vote of 96 to 11.

Although it’s disappointing for Illinois sports bettors to have an in-person requirement, the positive news is that Phase 5 guidelines should also permit casinos to reopen at full capacity.

As of now, the state’s gambling industry is operating at 60% capacity. Since March 2020, Illinois casinos have either been shut down or operating with restrictions in place.
