Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has announced a statewide vaccine lottery for all residents who receive their COVID-19 immunization by July 1st.
The initiative, known as “All In For The Win,” will distribute $10 million in prizes through different drawings. The announcement was made during a news conference on Thursday, coinciding with the news that 70% of Illinois residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
In a statement, Pritzker remarked:
We are also implementing the “All In For The Win” initiative to safeguard all residents from COVID-19, especially its more harmful variants.
Vaccines are highly effective at keeping you safe and protecting your community. Getting vaccinated is the key to ending this pandemic, so step up, Illinois. You might even get lucky and win the lottery.
There will be a total of 20 award designs and 43 cash prizes available. The initial illustrations will be held on July 8th, where three scholarship winners of $150,000 each and one cash prize winner of $1 million will be announced.
Next, cash drawings for $100,000 per week will occur leading up to the grand finale on August 26th, where $2 million in cash prizes will be awarded.
If you have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by July 1, you will be entered into the vaccine lottery automatically. Governor Pritzker also announced that regional drawings will be held to include all residents of the state.
Illinois is joining the ranks of several other states by establishing a vaccine lottery program, taking inspiration from Ohio, which has experienced an increase in vaccination rates since launching its own lottery initiative.

Treatments have made it possible for casinos and stadiums to completely resume.
Ultimately, Illinois returns to its usual state once all is said and done.
During most of the pandemic, the state’s casinos were either closed or operating at limited capacity. Now, they are all able to open at 100% capacity.
Naturally, we all remember watching sports events with no spectators present. In 2020, the Cubs, White Sox, and Bears all competed in empty stadiums.
Currently, Wrigley Field is allowing full capacity attendance, with Guaranteed Rate Field set to do the same during its next home stand. The Chicago Bears have also revealed plans to welcome fans at full capacity for the 2021 season, among other announcements.
From June 9-16, the COVID-19 positivity rate in the state fell below 1%.
