Supply chain issues and approval process complications have delayed the opening of the Waukegan American Place temporary casino located between Chicago and Milwaukee.

The Illinois Gaming Board has approved Full House Resorts’ proposal to open the American Place Casino in Waukegan, a significant step forward in the development of new casinos in the state.

Full House is set to open a temporary casino in July 2022 as a preview before the permanent gaming establishment is expected to launch in about two years.

However, Full House must first complete a large amount of paperwork before they can open their temporary casino and welcome guests.

Job fair hosted by a whole house

Recognizing the importance of getting the temporary location up and running, Alex Stolyar, the Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Full House, identified staffing the game as the top priority among the many tasks that need to be completed.

He said:

We are working on a collaboration with the city to start our joint project. Our game in progress is currently underway, with approximately a thousand tasks on our to-do list. The process of hiring team members will begin shortly.

Full House hosted a career fair for local residents to kick off the interview process. Additional sessions will be held at the Amherst Lake Office Complex on Waukegan Road on March 29 and 31. So far, approximately 40 programs have signed up for the fair.

There will be job openings available for sales and marketing associates, surveillance specialists, casino device technicians, and dealers at the new game.

Pledges have been made to provide thorough benefits packages and competitive salaries in order to fill these gaps.

Stolyar continued:

We are seeking residents from the area who will be staying with us for three years before transitioning to a permanent position. These individuals will be well-prepared and fully trained for the move.

According to reports, the temporary sites will require hundreds of workers, while the permanent location will need to hire 1,800 employees before opening to customers.

What the momentary blackjack can expect

The temporary space will be enlarged to 75,000 square feet to include a sportsbook, 50 gaming tables, 1,000 slot machines, and food and beverage services for both local residents and visitors in the northern Illinois town.

The Waukegan planning board has recently given unanimous approval to plans for a temporary game that will take an unconventional approach.

The high-pressure tent structure, produced by Sprung Structures, will be pale in color and windowless.

Stolyar expressed enthusiasm, saying, “I appreciate the recommendation. A unanimous positive vote always brings me joy.”

Full House plans to operate the temporary game around the clock, 24 hours a day.
