Supply chain issues and approval process complications have delayed the opening of the Waukegan American Place temporary casino located between Chicago and Milwaukee.

Full House Resorts will be opening a temporary gaming facility in July, leading up to the future American Place Casino in Waukegan.

Before a July target date can be set, approval from both the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) and the city of Waukegan is required. Full House expects to launch the new casino within the next two years.

In December, the IGB approved Full House as “preliminarily suitable” for a license. At the same time, Wind Creek Casino Homewood/East Hazel Crest was selected as the winning bidder for the south suburban license.

Alex Stolyar, the Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer of Full House, told the Chicago Tribune that the temporary casino is anticipated to be approximately 65,000 square feet in size.

“It’s like a high-tension tent,” he explained, referring to The Temporary by American Place, also known as ‘rsquo’.

If everything goes according to plan, the temporary game will include 1,000 slot machines, 50 board games, and a casino.

Stolyar also mentioned that the temporary casino plans to hire hundreds of employees for various positions such as dealers, slot machine technicians, security staff, surveillance handlers, marketing experts, and supervisory staff.

The design process can start after receiving approval from both the town and the IGB for the programs.

For the Hard Rock temporary game, we have the numbers.

The newly opened Hard Rock Rockford casino, which debuted last autumn, has recently shared updates on its current business performance.

The temporary casino generated about $8.5 million in total revenue during November and December, ranking as the seventh highest among Illinois’ 11 casinos during that time frame.

Board games are not permitted at Hard Rock. The temporary site is located at the former Giovanni’s Restaurant and Convention Center.

The ability to resume is expected to start in 2025 and will be available for a maximum of two years.

The most recent blackjack news in Chicago

There was a flurry of news surrounding Chicago casinos at the close of 2021, but the buzz has subsided. Here is the latest update on the situation.

The city of Chicago is currently considering five proposals, with bidders presenting their ideas to both the city and the public in mid-December.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot has stated that the town intends to announce a winner by the end of March, the conclusion of the first quarter of the year.

Rush Street Gaming and Bally each submitted two bids, while Hard Rock submitted one.

After the town has agreed on the wager, it can work together with the operator to send a request to the IGB.
